NGO Effectiveness at the UN THANK YOU for offering some of your most valuable time to help provide data for my doctoral dissertation. My dissertation project is focused on how to help NGOs (and their representatives) improve their capacity to effect social and political change through their advocacy and activism at the United Nations. This particular survey will help provide some background for this project and consists of 15 questions in all, most being short multiple choice. It is designed to be very brief and should take LESS than eight (8) minutes to complete. PLUS as my way of saying "thank you" for giving of your time, I am offering a FREE, downloadable piece of software upon completion of the survey. This will be very helpful for those of you who often find themselves researching the UN site, this will help save you time. It takes seconds to install and works in conjunction with your browser, making key UN links easily available at all times, and probably providing you with some resources you didn't know were there! I thank you in advance for helping me gather data for my research project. Sincerely, Karen Step 1 of 3 - Biographic Information 33% Biographic Information (7 Questions < 2 Minutes)NOTE: None of this information will be used for any purpose other than the dissertation research project.NationalityAfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBrazilBruneiBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCambodiaCameroonCanadaCape VerdeCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaColombiaComorosCongoCosta RicaCôte d'IvoireCroatiaCubaCyprusCzech RepublicDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEast TimorEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEthiopiaFijiFinlandFranceGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGreeceGrenadaGuamGuatemalaGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiNorth KoreaSouth KoreaKuwaitKyrgyzstanLaosLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacedoniaMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMauritaniaMauritiusMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNorwayNorthern Mariana IslandsOmanPakistanPalauPalestinePanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussiaRwandaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbia and MontenegroSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSwazilandSwedenSwitzerlandSyriaTaiwanTajikistanTanzaniaThailandTogoTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkeyTurkmenistanTuvaluUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVatican CityVenezuelaVietnamVirgin Islands, BritishVirgin Islands, U.S.YemenZambiaZimbabweGenderFemaleMaleAge18-2526-4041-5556 +Education High School Associate Degree Bachelor's Degree Graduate of Professional Degree Some College Other Completed online skills training course(s) I have been and NGO representative to the UN for...Less than a year1-3 years3-5 years5-10 years10-20 yearsmore than 20 yearsI haven't been a representative yet but hope to beMy highest level of active at the UN (previous or curent) was:EverydayOnce a week2 to 3 times a weekOnce a month2 to 3 times a monthLess than once a monthWhat kind of training have you engaged in that helps you better understand how the UN works and how NGOs can be effective in their advocacy and engagement at the UN?
