Program Background
Background
The ACT (Action to Counter Trafficking) Internship is an intensive six-month, remote program aiming to equip passionate individuals with the skills and knowledge to combat human trafficking.
Spearheaded by the NGO Academy, the program builds advocacy skills geared toward effectiveness in the intergovernmental environs of the UN, building out essential communications and negotiaitons skills, and knowledge of the UN Convention on Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocol as its underpinning framework for Trafficking in Persons (TiP).
Interns start with a training phase, followed by guided research to identify key anti-trafficking elements in their home countries. They then gather updates about ongoing efforts, leading to the formulation of an actionable plan. This could involve community work, awareness campaigns, academic studies, or advisory roles for local agencies.
The ACT Internship offers a transformative journey, deep insights into global trafficking, strategic advocacy tools, and a platform to implement change. The shared vision of lives free from trafficking unites our international cohort. Application deadline is 5:00 PM EDT, December 22, 2023.
